The Mandarin Tour Secures Sponsor Exemption into The Great Waterway Classic
Last year we were the first professional golf tour in Canada to grant free Web.com Tour sponsor exemption. Winner Lucas Kim went on to make the cut in the Price Cutter Charity Championship in Springfield, MO (Results) and gained valuable experience as a young professional golfer trying to rise through the ranks.
This year we have done it again! The Mandarin Tour is the first professional golf tour to secure a sponsor exemption into The Great Waterway Classic, a Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada event.
‘This is an extremely exciting time for us and our players” CEO Nic Mazze expressed after finalizing the 3 year sponsorship agreement with The Great Waterway Classic.
‘We are pleased to partner with the Mandarin Tour’ said Tournament Director Brad Parkins. ‘The level of play on the Mandarin Tour is extremely competitive and offering this opportunity to a young player not already exempt into the event could change their golfing fortunes.’
Mandarin Tour COO Bryan DeCorso “Professional golf’s future stars will be playing The Great Waterway Classic and we are excited that one of our members will have a chance to test their game against some of the best up and coming players in Canada,” Said DeCorso. “By playing in The Great Waterway Classic I am confident one of our member’s will gain the experience necessary to strengthen their game in preparation for the next level.”
The player who finishes the highest in this year’s $35,000 Major Championship: The Seaforth Country Classic, not already exempt or otherwise in the field for the event, will be granted the sponsor exemption into the tournament.
